Modernization in Southern Italy with WES-model windmills

Two Lagerwey 30/200 turbines had already been installed in Melfi, but over time, their output dropped below expectations.

That's where Ecoways came in.

Many components had become outdated, and a complete overhaul was needed to restore reliable green energy production.

Both installations were fitted with new rotor blades and a modernized rotor system.
In one of the turbines, the control cabinet was also fully replaced.

Carefully balanced

The new rotor blades were pre-assembled and balanced on the ground to prevent vibration during operation.

They were then transported with the hub to the site and mounted directly onto the gondel.

Efficient assembly with just one crane

Both the old Lagerwey turbines and the new WES systems have two rotor blades - a clear advantage during assembly.

The rotor and blades are pre-assembled on the ground and then lifted as a single unit onto the gondel using one crane.

Two modernized systems, ready for the future

In 2020, both Lagerwey turbines underwent a complete modernization. They received new WES rotor hubs, rotor blades, and a new control system, bringing them technically up to the level of the WES 30/200 model.

Each turbine now features a 30-metre rotor diameter and a maximum power output of 200 kW.

Thanks to integrated SCADA monitoring, both systems can be checked anytime, anywhere.

Wind & zon

You can't be self-sufficient with just solar energy. Wind energy is also needed. With a small windmill you can supply your farm with energy in the winter months, solar panels provide the necessary power in the summer months.

Wij zien over het algemeen de beste resultaten met de combinatie van 2/3 wind en 1/3 zon.
