How is a small wind turbine connected to your farm? The short answer is: you need a connection between 2x35A and 3x80A. Ideally, in the existing meter box or in a new enclosure right next to it. In this enclosure, the components of the Electricity Installation Kit (art.no. IN9201) are placed.
During the installation of your wind turbine, our team will also take care of this connection.
Assessing your current situation.
Our electrician will visit your farm to check whether the current installation is suitable for connecting a small wind turbine. If it is not, we'll advise how it should be adapted, and we can even take care of these changes if you need.
A mapping of the cable route follows this. In consultation with you, we determine how and where the cable runs from the turbine to the meter or junction box. From there, our installation team will dig in the cables or lay them neatly through the stable or barn towards the connection point of the mill.

The basic installation.
The components of the windmill are then mounted in an accessible location.
Our installers do this in the following order: the isolating switch (red/yellow) is mounted on the far left (this is also the emergency stop of the windmill). This is followed by the earth leakage circuit breaker, and on the right, the circuit breaker. The comb rails provided are used for connection.
If a double cable is used between the windmill and the connection point, you have the following options:
- Use an A-box to connect both cables outside the meter box, then use a single 10mm2 cable to connect to the components already installed.
OR - Crimping both cables into a suitable twin wire end sleeve to then connect the twin wires directly into the circuit breaker.
Cable connected? Then your Ecoways windmill can start turning!
Once the work in the meter box is successfully completed, we start the windmill.
We do this by energising the farmyard windmill and then pressing the green start button, which is located in the electrical cabinet next to the windmill, according to the instructions, which you will find on the inside of the cabinet door.
It's as easy as that!
