Ecoways, the energy partner for entrepreneurs, is now the official distributor in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany for Kaifa energy storage. With this partnership, we're continuing our mission to help small and medium-sized businesses and agricultural entrepreneurs achieve sustainable energy independence in a volatile energy market.

For several years now, the Chinese brand Kaifa has been developing energy storage systems and batteries for commercial use. It does so with a wealth of expertise, built in part through its previous development of smart meters in many households, which are used by Dutch grid operators.

Kaifa’s energy storage systems are characterized by their availability in various sizes, the provision of compact outdoor models, and, in particular, their ability to offer a solution when solar panel inverters need to be replaced.

Peter Withuis, Commercial Manager at Ecoways, had this to say about the partnership:

“Now that we are distributors of this reliable brand in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, we can help small and medium-sized businesses and the agricultural sector take even greater control of their energy. By combining this energy storage system with our small wind turbines or solar panels, business owners can choose to generate and use their own electricity whenever they need it, regardless of grid availability.”

Energy Storage Becoming Increasingly Attractive

In 2025, Dutch companies invested more than one billion euros in energy storage, according to figures from RVO and Solar & Storage Magazine. The investment amount is expected to be higher in 2026. 2026 is the last year in which individuals and businesses with a small-consumer connection (kVA) to the grid can offset their self-generated electricity. The net metering scheme will be abolished as of January 1, 2027. Current grid capacity and grid congestion are also key reasons for businesses to adopt energy storage to ensure operational continuity and growth.
